BATTERY COOPER The National Park Service has a requirement for the removal of a 1976 18 Foot Cane Cutter fiberglass boat (bass/ski) that is a derelict vessel located on the south side of Santa Rosa Island, in th e Fort Pickens area, west of Battery Cooper (30.32262N, 87.29051W). Removal is necessary to prevent environmental damage, protect park resources, and maintain visitor safety. Background: A 1976 18 foot Cane Cutter washed ashore on or about August 5th, 2025. U.S. Park Rangers and Florida Fish & Wildlife (FWC) Officers investigated and could not identify the current owner of the vessel. FWC stickered the boat as abandoned on August 9th, and an NPS
