Description - Description Offshore wind energy will play a large role in decarbonizing the Dutch energy supply. However, large scale offshore wind development may come at a price; as more wind farms are added, the clustering effect of the wind farms has a distorti ng effect on meteorology. This results in lower yields, as wind energy is removed upwind from a respective wind farm. The Dutch government has formulated their ambition for an acceleration in offshore wind energy development in order to decarbonize the energy supply.
