Description - Description: The works will comprise the inspection, maintenance and repair of 31 number penstocks and 35 flap valves. The penstocks and flap valves are located within the surface water drainage system in outfall chambers adjacent to the main quay wa lls at the Port of Felixstowe. Confined space entry shall be required for these inspections and the chambers range from 3m to 6m in depth.The penstocks and flap valves are designed to prevent back flow at high tide and, when closed, prevent flooding from tidal surges.
