Description - Description: The supplies will contribute to the construction of a magnetically shielded chamber. In addition to wood and electrical steel, the supplies will consist of plates made of a special alloy called Mu-metal. This specific alloy is necessary to build the shielding, given its extreme magnetic permeability. Concretely, the equivalent of 1.8 t of Mu-metal is necessary for the construction of the chamber. Mu-metal, after being manufactured, will have been cut to size, then heat treated in special ovens to obtain its shielding properties.
