Description - Description: In 2023, the Lower House of the States General conducted a parliamentary survey about the consequences of natural gas extraction in Groningen. This survey led to the report "Groningers Boven Gas", in which the inquiry committee found tha t the inhabitants of the gas extraction area in Groningen have taken the negative consequences of gas extraction for decades, and that the Netherlands has an "honorary debt" to the region.
