Description - Description: The main HV Pulsed Power supply to the Culham site is via a dedicated overhead line fed directly from the National Grid at 400kV and transformed down by three 90 MVA 400/36kV super grid transformers (SGT's) normally operated in parallel. Original installation of the Super-Grid Transformers was installed over 40 years ago and original spares are practically non-existent. They are an aging asset, with cooling becoming more critical with weather and with the potential of new increased loading due to new customers on site.
