Description - Description: ʔaq̓am is a First Nations community government organization that services 374 Band Members and other aboriginal peoples within the Ktunaxa Nation. Geographically, the community is located 8km North of Cranbrook in the East Kootenay reg ion of British Columbia.In July 2023, the St. Mary’s Wildfire (N11805), which was 4,640 hectares, tore though ʔaq̓am in which most of the fire damage occurred on ʔaq̓am reserve land. We are looking for field crews to conduct preliminary stand assessments and suitability for fiber recovery with an emphasis on ecological restoration.
