Description - Description Following the floods of November 2023 in the Westhoek, the Resilient Westhoek task force was created. The aim of this assignment is to carry out the actions within the maintenance dredging section. Due to years of silting up of the waterw ays, the draft on the rivers and canals in the Westhoek is limited. The aim of this assignment is to improve water drainage by means of maintenance dredging works to remove thresholds on the bottom or on banks and to carry out silt removal. This mainly applies to the Ypres-IJzer canal, the Plassendale-Nieuwpoort canal, the Lokanaal, the IJzer, the Oude Veurnevaart, the Bergenvaart and general silt clearance in smaller zones/locations.
