Description - Odderøya sewage treatment plant currently has a fire damper central with MicroMatic Safegard Global control system with modules and communication boxes that use Modbus. It is now desirable to replace the fire damper central, associated modules and c ommunication boxes with a PLC based system that uses distributed IOs (RIO) and WinCC-OA for management and monitoring of fire dampers. WinCC-OA is already being used at Odderøya RA. The background is challenges with access to spare parts for existing facilities and that existing facilities get constant errors/failures and generate unnecessary joint alarms that lead to resource-consuming and unwanted call-outs.
