Description - Description The Canadian Coast Guard requires services to maintain a Seasonal Aids to Navigation System on the Southern Lakes in Yukon Territory and British Columbia that includes thirty-seven (37) unlighted buoys and six (6) unlighted beacons. The b uoys must be deployed in May right after the ice recedes and checked for correct position once a month until they are recovered and stored in October, shortly before freeze up. The beacons are left in place all year and are checked for correct operation once a month during the navigation season (typically May to October inclusive).
