Description - Description: Building on the experiences from the Wadden Sea ecosystem research project, in particular the studies by Ruth (1994) and the specifications of the Trilateral Monitoring and Assessment Program (TMAG 1997), a monitoring program was started in 1998 that provides a comprehensive overview of the dynamics of the mussel populations in the Schleswig National Park -Holstein Wadden Sea and new knowledge about the controlling natural factors (Nehls & Büttger 2006).
