Description - Description: NEAL’S CREEK DEBRIS REMOVAL IRSC -PISGAH NATIONAL FOREST, APPALACHIAN RANGER DISTRICT Description of Work – The objective of this project is to restore the Neal’s Creek Helipad area by removing woody debris from a temporary storage site from Hurricane Helene. The woody debris was removed from roads post Hurricane Helene flooding to give access to residents. The woody debris has been dumped in a road bed and at the edge of the Neal’s Creek Helipad. Secondary, is to seek an opportunity to sell material for a developing biochar market (e.g., as a soil amendment in areas devastated by Helene).
