Description - Description: According to the latest information, 130 species from the butterfly group (Papilionidae, Hesperiidae, Pieridae, Nymphalidae, Lycaenidae, Riodinidae) and 18 species from the ram family (Zygaenidae) occur in Rhineland-Palatinate (Red List of Large Butterflies in Rhineland-Palatinate 2014). As part of the nationwide insect monitoring, these are recorded at 60 SPF through transect counts in the module “Butterflies and rams at landscape level” in Rhineland-Palatinate.The survey represents a random cross-section of the entire landscape through the SPF.
