Description - Glencore has announced the closure of the underground copper mine and copper concentrator in Mount Isa which will result in the loss of 1,200 jobs directly. Without intervention, it is estimate that this will result in further job losses in the order of 3,600 in the service sector and a halving in Mount Isa’s population.
