Description - Description: The Vermont floods of July and December of calendar year 2023 damaged the existing stream slopes and scoured beneath the bridge footing at the Little Ascutney Bridge #B9 over the North Branch of the Black River along Little Ascutney Road . The floodwaters caused erosion along the streambanks, removed the rock slope protecting material along the streambank, undermined and weakened an existing wingwall which is now collapsing and scoured beneath the footing of the westerly abutment and wingwall. This damage, along with ongoing stream flow caused decay, has created a situation where the bridge and adjacent streambanks are no longer stable, and if left unrepaired and unmitigated will
