Description - On 2 May 2023, the Australian Government announced it will invest $263.8 million for the introduction of a National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP), which will lead to the early detection of lung cancer in Australians and reduce mortality from lung cancer. This is the first new national cancer screening program in nearly 20 years and will commence screening by July 2025.The NLCSP will target high-risk individuals to detect lung cancer in its early stages to improve treatment and lung cancer outcomes.
