Description - Description The Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation is a non-ministerial government department responsible for regulating the electricity, gas, water and sewerage industries in Northern Ireland. In doing so, we promote short and long-te rm interests of energy and water consumers. We are accountable to the Northern Ireland Assembly through financial and annual reporting obligations.
