Description - The Hiawatha National Forest is seeking a request for proposals for the installation of alternative power (i.e. solar) at two locations on Grand Island National Recreation Area located a 1/2 mile of the city of Munising, Michigan. Below is a summary of the purpose of the proposed project: 1. The Hiawatha National Forest is planning to construct a new system(s) of providing electrical  power to replace (2) grid-power electric services located at (2) main building sites on the island  (Williams Landing Visitor Center and FS Employee Work Center).
