TENDER NOTICE FOR Development of Master’s Elective courses on NISA Background: On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is supporting the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) through the Indo-German Solar Energy Partnership – Innovative New Solar Areas (IGSP IN-Solar) Project. The primary aim of the IGSP IN-Solar Project is to identify and develop innovative areas for photovoltaic (PV) applications, to meet the ambitious national renewable energy (RE) target of 500 Gigawatt (GW) by 2030. Among innovative new solar technologies, Agri-Photovoltaics (AgriPV), Floating Photovoltaics (FPV), and Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) stand out as promising solutions that integrate solar energy generation with diverse environments and infrastructures. In the field of New and Innovative Solar Applications (NISAs), GIZ is working for last few years to develop knowledge products. To address the noticeable skill gaps on NISAs, we propose the introduction of designated courses at university level focusing on AgriPV (Agricultural Photovoltaics), BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics), and FPV (Floating Photovoltaics). These courses will aim to streamline and convey the abundant knowledge accessible to postgraduate students in India. The aim of these courses is to equip professionals, students, and stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and skills to comprehend, design, and implement AgriPV, FPV, and BIPV systems effectively. These courses' curriculum will explore the fundamentals, uses, advantages, and drawbacks of these technologies. By doing this, we hope to close the knowledge gap that exists between the current body of information and the practical skills needed in the field. It will also enable people to make meaningful contributions to the development and application of these solar technologies. Objectives: The primary aim of this initiative is to design, and implement elective courses focused on AgriPV, BIPV, and FPV. The detailed TOR is attached herewith.
