Description - Description: In the Leiden region, Vattenfall owns and operates a district heating network with a peak power of approximately 120 MW and an average annual heat demand (productive) of around 1 million GJ. The heat network was laid out in the 1980s and is skilled at high temperatures. Currently, the Heat by Uniper (gas-fired CHP, peak and backup) supplied.Vattenfall will deliver residual heat from the Rotterdam ports to the heat network in the Leiden region. The heat will be transported to Leiden via Warmtelinq, after which Vattenfall distributes the heat to the customers. Vattenfall is building a peak and backup installation (P&U) in Leiden for this.
