Description - Description: As part of a clinical interventional study, nucleic acids will be isolated from saliva and stool samples of small children, which will later be used to identify viral infections using PCR. The study is currently being carried out in 8 st udy centers in Europe and the UK. It is possible that 2-3 more study centers will be added during the duration of the project. Countries involved are Belgium, Germany, Poland, Sweden and the UK. Over 2,000 children are taking part in the study, collecting saliva samples weekly and stool samples monthly from the ages of 3 months to 2 years.
