Description - The University of Oulu acquires a dedicated cryogenic electron microscope (Cryo-TEM), whose electron source is a 100 kV FEG (field emission gun). The instrument must be able to find out the structures of individual nanoparticles, e.g. macromolecules, with a resolution of less than 3.5 Ångstöm, and it is mainly used to ensure the quality of samples and for preliminary characterization.
