Description - Description:  PreambleMtskheta Cross is located at the confluence of the river Mtkvari and Aragvi, on the top of the rocky mountain east of Mtskheta. The complex, along with the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and the Samtavro Monastery, has been listed in the World Heritage List since 1994 as the historical monuments of Mtskheta. The complex includes a small temple of the Cross, the Great Temple, the fence, the ruins of the tower and the remains of other buildings. The temple with its high architectural-artistic value has greatly influenced the further development of Georgian architecture, and in typology the term "cross-type" temples have emerged.
