Description - BackgroundCommunity language schools (CLS) are not-for-profit, community-based organisations that provide language programs to school-aged children out of school hours and preschool children (where approved). CLS enable children and young people to l earn or maintain their family or heritage languages. The Department of Education (DE) provides annual funding to accredited CLS through the Community Language Schools Funding Program.There are currently 183 accredited CLS in the program, some of which operate from a single campus, and others operate out of multiple campuses.Business needs DE annually audits a sample of accredited CLS through the CLS Compliance Audit Program.
