INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) FOR Advertising, Public Relations and Marketing Management Work No: ISR/ Consulting Services/2023/EOI/03 INSTITUTE OF SEISMOLOGICAL RESEARCH DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY GOVT. OF GUJARAT KNOWLEDGE CORRIDOR, RAISAN, GANDHINAGAR, GUJARAT-382007 (INDIA) JUNE 2023 1. INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST The Institute of Seismological Research invites expression of interests (EOI) from reputed Companies/Organisations (hereafter referred as ‘Agencies’) to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate communications strategy in order to support the objectives and activities of ISR and maximize local, national and international exposure. Information about the activities of ISR and the broad scope of work are detailed in this document. Interested agencies fulfilling the minimum qualification criteria as stated in the EOI, may send their complete details as per details given in this EOI document on or before 17.7.2023 11:00 AM, to the following address by post/hand in a sealed envelope superscribing “Expression of Interest (EOI) for Advertising, Public Relations and Marketing Management Work” for short-listing the interested agencies. ABOUT INSTITUTE OF SEISMOLOGICAL RESEARCH The Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) is functioning as an autonomous institute under the aegis of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of Gujarat. ISR was registered in 2003 as a Society under societies registration act, 1860 and Public Trust under Mumbai Charitable Trust Act 1950. It started its scientific activities in 2006. The ISR is unique in India being the only institute fully dedicated to Earthquake Studies. The vision of the institute is to understand the science of earthquake occurrences and use this knowledge to save lives and minimize damage due to earthquakes. Apart from addressing cutting-edge topics like understanding the physical processes related to earthquake genesis, ISR has also been extremely proactive to work on the issues that have direct impact on the society. Therefore, besides contributing to basic research, ISR is also motivated to contribute to the research issues that are societally relevant. Keeping that in mind some of the goals of ISR are outlined as Earthquake monitoring through standardized surface observations. The use of modern digital technology in establishment of regional seismic networks including strong motion instruments, data acquisition and dissemination by exchange of catalogues, databases and bulletins from various sources. Developing new knowledge based techniques of probabilistic earthquake forecasting, micro and macro zoning of various vulnerable zones. Making recommendations relating to reduction of earthquake losses and using sound disaster mitigation policies and practices. Improve seismic safety and performance in built in environment especially in highly vulnerable urban areas. Undertaking steps and efforts to communicate earthquake science to engineers and use the knowledge base for creating public awareness by various methods in modern communication and media methodologies in society. Pursuing research in exploration for ground water, hydrocarbon and other natural resources using interdisciplinary approaches. In addition, the ISR has emerged as an effective and large-scale education and popularisation platform in the field of Earthquake Science in the State of Gujarat and the country. Working towards this direction, the current activities of ISR include Creating awareness among people and allay their fear and anxieties about earthquakes. The ISR participates in mega events and demonstrates the online seismic data acquisition and location protocols, tsunami animation, earthquake effects on buildings and how to safeguard against them. Imparting training to students and guiding researchers. Every year ISR trains about 100 students from all over India by way of M.Sc. / M. Tech dissertation and Ph.D. thesis. Exploring and disseminating new terrains of research on Seismology by organizing International Symposia and training courses. The ISR regularly organizes International symposia and training courses, which are attended by participants from all over the country. Eminent and young scientists from the country and abroad contribute by presenting their valuable and state of the art research studies. For last one and half decade, ISR has undertaken and successfully accomplished many important projects, related to seismic monitoring, seismic hazard assessment and resource exploration. Some noteworthy projects are 24x7 seismicity monitoring of Gujarat state. Seismological studies in and around Sardar Sarovar dam. Seismicity monitoring and seismicity studies in and around the Kalpasar project. Establishment of strong motion network for dams of Gujarat. Seismic monitoring in Hydroelectric project sites like Burshar, Kashmir and Subansuri (NE India). Seismic microzonation of different cities like Gandhidham, Anjar, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad and Bhuj and providing knowledge for seismic safety factor to be considered for each region for different heights of buildings. Site specific seismic hazard studies for the 182m Sardar Patel statue, a 15- storey hospital at Ahmedabad, Multi-storey commercial and residential complexes of Ahmedabad and industrial sites in Kachchh. Seismic microzonation of areas of rapid growth like Dholera Special Investment Region. Seismic hazard assessment for critical structures like |
