Description - The Penitentiary Institution (PI) Krimpen aan den IJssel, built in 1995, is located in the Stormpolder along the Hollandsche IJssel river. There are various departments such as the House of Detention (HvB), where people are in pre-trial detention, th e Extra Care Facility (EZV), prison departments where men who have been sentenced (for life) reside and the Intensive Supervision Department (AIT).
