| Description: | Invitation to tender for "Capacity Building for the Rural Road Research Centre in Myanmar" The Research for Community Access Partnership (ReCAP) is a six-year programme of applied research and knowledge dissemination funded by a grant from the UK Government through the Department for International Development (DFID). The overall aim is to promote safe and sustainable rural access in Africa and Asia through research and knowledge sharing between participating countries and the wider community. Following the recent completion of the Research and Development Unit (RDU) Business Plans for Myanmar, Nepal and Bangladesh, and specifically the ‘Establishment of Rural Road Research Capacity in Myanmar / RDU Business Plan for First Five Years of Operation for Myanmar' it was agreed by the Department of Rural Road Development (DRRD) that a Rural Road RDU would be established which would focus on research into rural road infrastructure and services in Myanmar. The next step is a capacity building initiative with the objective of developing the professional and managerial expertise of the (newly appointed) RDU staff so that they are better able to perform their official duties in an efficient and safe manner. ReCAP, managed by Cardno Emerging Markets (UK) Ltd, is seeking proposals from suitably qualified organisations to implement a project for Capacity Building for the Rural Road Research Centre in Myanmar. The objective of the project is to provide capacity building support to staff at the newly established RDU facility of the DRRD. This tender process is open to any organisation that meets the criteria detailed in the tender documentation. There are no restrictions with regards to nationality or country of registration. Interested tenderers are advised that the indicative budget available for this contract is a total of GBP 110,000.
