Description: This Request for Information (RFI) is an invitation to technology vendors from around the world to collaborate with Australian water sector leaders to help develop an Asset Intelligence Platform (AIP). The digital age has brought breakthroughs in technology that modernise the way organisations operate, yet the power of data and analytics remains substantially unleveraged across most of the Australian water sector, complicated by legacy systems and processes.

The Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) together with SA Water, Barwon Water, Urban Utilities, Yarra Valley Water (YVW) and TasWater (Members or Consortium) have set out to enable a digital advantage for the water sector through the development of a water utility AIP.

At its foundation the AIP has been conceived as a tool to seamlessly integrate data and derive insights not readily available from existing singular systems of record. While the primary objective of the platform is to make the industry as a whole better than the sum of its parts, it also seeks to modernise the way Australian and New Zealand public water utilities plan, deliver, and manage assets in order to optimise customer, employee, and financial outcomes.
The Platform will have three main foundational capabilities:
1. Data Collation and Situational Awareness;
2. Automation; and
3. Prediction

The RFI represents an opportunity for local and global technology organisations to showcase their capabilities in developing similar Platforms, inform the design of the AIP, and position for an invitation to the subsequent RFP stage of the process.

About Authority: The Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) is the peak body that connects the Australian urban water industry, representing over 70 public and privately owned water or water related organisations. Our members provide water and wastewater services to over 20 million customers in Australia and New Zealand. The urban water industry is committed to anchoring its services to customers' values, and to enrich communities where water services have broad economic, environmental and social values. In line with this our main activities focus on four areas:
1. Influencing national and state policies on the provision of urban water services and sustainable water resource management;
2. Promoting debate on environmentally sustainable development and management of water resources and the community health requirements of public water supplies; 3. Improving industry performance and establishing benchmarks and industry leading practices for water service processes; and
4. Fostering the exchange of information on education, training, research, water and wastewater management and treatment and other matters of common interest.?
