Description - Project Start : NA Project End : 31/12/2030 The first phase of the QR25.6bn world-scale deep-water New Doha Port in Mesaieed will be completed in 2016. The port will be completed in three phases. Following the first phase in 2016, the second on e will start in 2020 and the third in 2030. On completion of the third phase, the New Doha Port will have a cargo-handling capacity of 6mn TEUs. The project comes up in an area of about 26.5sq. km. The port will be equipped to handle the world’s largest ships and be among the largest deep water ports in the world. The project will be a key driver of the national economy contributing significantly to the GDP. It will provide further impetus to Qatar’s development, the economic zones being set up and growth of the Mesaieed Industrial City as a whole.
