Description - Contract Awarded for equip an automated light-rail line in Seoul, including 50 trains, signalling, communication equipment, track, power equipment, vehicle inspection equipment and platform screen doors. The 13.4km Dongbu Line will serve 16 statio ns, connecting the Seongdong-gu and Nowon-gu districts in Seoul. The project is due to be completed in 2024 and will provide a link to the northeastern part of the Korean capital, where traffic congestion often occurs due to underdeveloped infrastructure. The 73km/h driverless trains will be fitted with air-conditioning designed to manage the concentration of carbon dioxide in the vehicle at an appropriate level for passenger comfort.
