Description - In 2021, the city of Papenburg was included in the “Living Centers” urban development program with the “Papenburg-Stadtmitte” area. In the southern part of the development area are the historic town hall on the main canal, the building site f or an extension to the town hall and the adjacent market square, which functions as a multifunctional space for events and as a parking space. West of the market square and the town hall, the B70 federal road leads directly into the city centre, which is why the area described is one of the central first impressions of the city of Papenburg.
