| Description: | Request for Information (RFI) The PALMS RFI has opened, express your intention to respond today! Scope This Request for Information (RFI) has been issued for the purpose of Rio Tinto (RT) seeking solutions from the market for a People Logistics Management Solution (PALMS). The solution would be responsible for the management of Rio Tinto’s Iron Ore travel and accommodation operations in Western Australia. This includes the mobilisation of 12,000+ Fly In, Fly Out (FIFO) rostered and ad-hoc personnel traveling through 7 regional airports, to accommodation at 39 villages servicing 18,000+ rooms across the Pilbara region. Additionally, the solution would manage flight and ground transport schedules, and village room bookings and associated services. The three broad aims for the PALMS project are: to leverage a fit-for-purpose modern platform that can grow with us, to create a quality data asset and data-driven culture, and to enhance the resident experience. Delivery pathways Rio Tinto is seeking a global response on this RFI. The final delivery pathway of the PALMS solution will depend on what solution can be identified during the RFI and subsequent appropriate market engagement process. With our knowledge and experience of the current travel and accommodation domains, we anticipate delivering the required functionality either entirely through commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution(s) with extensions, or a blend of COTS with Rio Tinto internally developed solutions.
